This amazing vintage textile is upcycled from a vintage Japanese wedding Kimono (Uchikake) dating from the Mid-Showa period (over 40 years old) and is in excellent condition. Gilt thread catches the light and the brocade and embroidery symbols tell the story of love:
Cranes (Tsuru) are believed to live for a thousand years and inhabit the land of the immortals. They symbolise longevity and good fortune. A pair represent a happy marriage. You will receive a FREE Hunted and Stuffed guide to symbols in Japanese textiles with your order.
The pillow is strengthened and protected inside by a cotton lining, each cushion is fully over-locked and sewn with a concealed zip at the base for easy removal. Luxurious blue velvet is used on the reverse to compliment the vintage brocade.
Filled with a British made, ethically sourced, luxury quality feather pad. Each cushion is hand made in the UK and comes with it's own foiled tag that details the date and origin of each beautiful textile.
