This amazing vintage textile is upcycled from a vintage Japanese wedding kimono called Uchikake dating from the Mid-Showa period (over 40 years old).
Plum Blossom (Ume) is the first flower to bloom in the Spring and is known as the ‘Flower of Peace’. A protective charm against evil, it also represents longevity, renewal and perseverance. Identified by round petals. River (Kawa) or winding stream represents continuity and the future. You will receive a FREE Hunted and Stuffed guide to symbols in Japanese textiles with your order.
The pillow is strengthened and protected inside by a cotton lining, each cushion is fully over-locked and sewn with a concealed zip at the base for easy removal. Luxurious emerald green velvet is used on the reverse to compliment the vintage silk.
Filled with a British made luxury quality feather pad. Each cushion is hand made in the UK and comes with it's own foiled tag that details the date and origin of each beautiful textile.
