This amazing vintage textile is upcycled from a vintage Obi of the highest status (Maru) dating from the Mid-Showa period (over 40 years old) and is in excellent condition. Gilt thread catches the light.
Hexagons represent the pattern on a tortoise shell and signify longevity and good fortune. Plum Blossom (Ume) is known as the 'Flower of Peace' and a charm against evil. It also represents longevity, renewal and perseverance. You will receive a FREE Hunted and Stuffed guide to symbols in Japanese textiles with your order.
The pillow is strengthened and protected inside by a cotton lining, each cushion is fully over-locked and sewn with a concealed zip at the base for easy removal. Luxurious textured oyster velvet is used on the reverse to compliment the vintage brocade.
Filled with an ethically sourced, British-made, luxury quality feather pad. Each cushion is hand made in the UK and comes with it's own foiled tag that details the date and origin of each beautiful textile.
