This multicolour silk throw blanket, made from an upcycled luxe vintage wedding kimono, is a total showstopper! Covered in silk floral embroidery, equally beautiful in the salon as a throw blanket or the boudoir as a bedspread adding unique luxury to your decor. Only one made, it is therefore totally unique and is hand crafted by cleverly upcycling part of a vintage silk Japanese wedding garment, dating from the Mid-Showa period (40+ years old). The original collar has been left intact to show the origin of this stunning textile. The front is a woven brocade with a myriad of auspicious symbols in silk and gilt thread and the reverse is made from the authentic original silk lining of the garment in lucky red.
Cranes (Tsuru) believed to live for a thousand years and inhabit the land of the immortals. Symbolise longevity and good fortune. A pair represent a happy marriage.
